Benjamin, The Last Tasmanian Tiger

Tasmania, Max Thomas Sanderson’s homeland, a windswept island south of mainland Australia. A land with a rugged, austere wilderness of muted colours and hues. This collection utilises intricate cutting with subtle variations of black, white and grey tones. Each garment is highlighted by hand worked seams in contrasting silk thread of turquoise, jade, rose and ivory.

Defined by gestures of the hand, Max Thomas Sanderson is a process-based practice dedicated to the creation of contemporary, artisanal tailoring for all gender identities. Imagined, cut, and constructed in-house, each garment bears a distinctive signature of handcraft born of a formal training in bespoke tailoring. All pieces are created in Paris using luxurious, natural cloth and finished with exclusive methods of hand- sewing. The sum of their parts, each piece marks a departure from the everyday—a resolutely unique answer to tailoring.
